Rev. Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner

 We are honored to have Rev. Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, President of the Skinner Leadership Institute, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Williams-Skinner has over 30 years of experience working with society-changing leaders and empowering marginalized communities. She is committed to uplifting the underserved and has dedicated her career to helping leaders leverage their power to overcome systemic racism. Rev. Dr. Williams-Skinner’s keynote, "The High Cost of Freedom: For Such A Time As This," will address the ongoing struggle for freedom and justice in America

Zibora Gilder

Executive Director, Empowered Hands, LLC.
Zibora Gilder is a social work student at Howard University. She has over 15 years of advocacy and community organizing experience. As a Deaf advocate, Zibora shared her unique perspective on advocating for marginalized communities and using education, policy, and action to create transformative change. 

Marcelles Queen

 Founder, Representation for the Bottom
Marcelles Queen created the organization Representation for the Bottom, which provides youth and family services focused on empowering underrepresented communities. Through his work, Marcelles advocates for social justice and provides resources to help youth and families overcome systemic barriers. His commitment to community empowerment has made a lasting impact in the lives of many families. 

Nina Taylor

Nina Taylor has over 15 years of experience in innovative instructional design, strategy, and organizational development. As CEO of The Center for Election Science, she focuses on increasing voter engagement and improving the electoral process. Nina is deeply committed to social impact, working with organizations to enhance their leadership and development strategies. 

Stephen A. Broyles

President, The Magi Group, LLC
Stephen A. Broyles brings over 30 years of experience in nonprofit capacity building, policy, and community development. As the president of The Magi Group, Stephen works with faith-based and community organizations to strengthen their impact on health and human services. He has secured millions of dollars in funding for initiatives addressing health disparities and substance abuse in underserved populations.

Kristi Matthews-Jones

Kristi Matthews-Jones is the director of the DC Girls' Coalition, where she organizes young girls of color, gender non-conforming people of color, and girls of color of trans experiences to advocate for issues impacting them. Kristi has extensive experience in grassroots advocacy and community organizing, and she is passionate about supporting youth voices and dismantling oppression.

Cohen Powell Cosby III

Cohen Powell Cosby III is a community organizer and event planner focused on empowering youth and preserving DC’s cultural heritage. He has worked with organizations such as ManUp Mentoring and Don’t Mute DC, championing causes that uplift his community. Through his work in digital marketing, Cohen helps small businesses and nonprofits leverage social media to achieve their goals and build stronger communities.

Nathan Brown

 Nathan Brown, a passionate advocate, author of Full Circle, and social media influencer, rounded out the panel, discussing how social media can be used as a tool for community engagement and advocacy.
