T.H.R.O.W (Transforming History and Reclaiming Our Worth)

Who are we

We’re a collective of Howard University School of Social Work students dedicated to uplifting Black communities through education, advocacy, and holistic well-being.

At T.H.R.O.W., we believe that real change starts with understanding our shared history, reclaiming our power, and making sure everyone has the support they need to thrive—not just survive. We focus on social justice, mental and emotional wellness, and community-driven solutions that bring people together.

Our Mission

  • Empower: Provide clear, accessible information that helps people navigate policies, resources, and opportunities.
  • Educate: Host workshops, forums, and events where folks can learn, share, and grow together.
  • Engage: Build networks of support so no one has to face challenges alone—because community is our strength.
